It's Gonna Be May... Pick a Card Time!

Blessings to everyone and here we are in May!! I'm loving the warmer weather and longer sunshiney days. And that means on a personal level... Running a lot more!!! Yes I have a confession to make... I am a runner. I love to do 5K races, 10k races, and yes even dabble my feet into a Half and Full marathon every so often. The only downside to my current working situation is that I typically get off at 5:00 just like many other office workers. Factoring in a travel time during rush hour traffic... Well let's just say running time could be a little tricky. Even though Daylight Savings Time means a little loss in rest, in the end it's worth it to get home with enough sun to go running and traing for the next race.
In Tarot news, I announced last month that my book Read Like A Queen: Real-Life Insights to SLAY Your Tarot Practice is available in the world and you know what... It still is!! Yes I've made the official, official announcement to the world at large... And frankly I'll keep doing it because I want this book on every Tarot readers' bookshelf! The Line Up for May
In choosing my line up for the month I found a few interesting facts. For instance, did you know that alongside National Military Appreciation Month, May is also National Pet Month, National Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, National Jewish American Heritage Month, and National Mental Health Awareness Month.
In honor of a couple of these designations here are the decks and books I've chosen to work with in the month of May...
Some of these may be obvious like The Dog Tarot for National Pet Month and The Chinese Five Elements Oracle for National Asian American and Pacific Islander Month. For National Mental Health Month I've decided to read Tarot Life Lessons. Have Tarot Will Party and Conjure Cards don't really fit into these recognitions, but I decided it was time to pick them up and read them in depth.
This is a new approach I thought I'd take to choosing my offerings during the month: Theming the books and decks around the Month's Celebration or Recognition. I did this unintentionally last month as April was National Jazz Month and the Tarot deck I used was Rhythm and Soul Tarot based around American music including Jazz. Who knew?
But let's jump into the monthly pick-a-card shall we? This month I'm working with the Dog Tarot and the Chinese Five Elements Oracle. Take a moment and center yourself; take in three deep and cleansing breaths, shake off anything from the day. And let yourself choose between numbers 1, 2, or 3. Read below for your cards for May...
Pile 1
If you chose number one, your May is going to be filled with literal and metaphorical light! Starting off with the Fire Ox, a symbol of lighting your path and way. This month will really begin to test your knowledge and all the things you've learned so far, oh Queen of Wands. Illumination starts from within. When you are clear on what you know, the path forward is much easier to spot (this Sun energy is revealing EVERYTHING). From there your point of view is clear and any and all possibilities are available. Remember the horizon is your playground, so don't be afraid to expand your vision to encompass the 360 view of it all.

If you chose number two, the keyword for the month of May is ENERGY! We start out with a bang with the Fire Horse. Energy that is so dynamic... it feels effortless. Like running a race and enjoying every step. You're going to find this in the Knight of Swords energy you're harnessing. Be sure you bring in the wisdom and groundedness of the King of Pentacles. The two are going to create a vitality that will allow you to pursue those new passions you've been wanting to, Ace of Wands energy DOWN!

If you chose number three, this month is going to feel like you are going to rise up like an Andra Day song. Earth Bird is the Phoenix rising from the ashes; once it burns itself out it emerges once again from the ashes. But be sure to clear everything out of the way. I'm going to ask you to do something that might be a little out of your ilk ... be patient and let things play out, The Moon's energy is at play here. But don't just sit and twiddle your thumbs, have some fun with that Three of Cup energy. Things are right on track so allow yourself to emerge and uplift because it's your time to level up Judgement boots DOWN.
